The Carolina Premier League, with six clubs based in the Carolinas, joins the network for the 2014-15 season – one week after US Club Soccer announced the addition of the Sunshine State Premier League in Florida.

The league features U-11 through U-14 boys and girls teams playing 10-game schedules. The six clubs are:

AC Sandhills (NC) Discoveries FC (SC) Wake Futbol Club (NC)
Charlotte United FC (NC) Lake Norman SC (NC) XL Soccer World (NC)

The Premier Leagues platform is a network of leagues in local, statewide and similar geographic regions for competitive clubs and teams, created along the principles that league-based competition is the primary means for long-term player development and growth of the game.

“Lake Norman SC is proud and excited to be a part of US Club Soccer’s new Carolina Premier League,” Jeremy Weeks, Lake Norman SC Director of Soccer, said. “We are looking forward to the competition in the league for the upcoming 2014-15 season. The Carolina Premier League will be an integral part to the development of our young players.”

“Wake FC is looking forward to the impact the Carolina Premier League will have on the development of our players,” David Allred, Wake FC Executive Director, said. “The Carolina Premier League's unique club-to-club format will allow our directors and coaches to observe multiple teams and age groups at the same venue. We will be able to better evaluate the development of our club as a whole.”
